OUR STORY
Hi my name is Bill, also known as Papa, to 3 amazing grandsons. My wife Kathryn and I embarked on our new chapter and entered the handmade craft world shortly after I joined the wonderful world of retirement!

Prior to the creation of Papa's Pens by Bill, I worked at Ford for 34 Years, and during this time I've always enjoyed learning new skills, and have dabbled a bit into many crafts over the years, trying my hands at Ceramics, Stained Glass, Carpentry, and any other thing I could give a try at to keep me busy, when I had some spare time.

My plan after retiring was to spend my time with the family, and take up another hobby and learn how to make handmade pens.
What started out as a hobby to make pens, turned into - Hmm... I wonder what can I make with this??
In just a few short months I found myself working away on my lathe nearly everyday and creating these unique one of a kind pieces.
We now offer an assortment of items in our standard inventory, and are always adding new inventory.
I hand turn each and every one of these pieces personally, creating unique one of a kind items using a variety of materials, such as Canadian & Exotic woods, Acrylics, recycled hockey pucks & skateboards along with many others.

When searching for materials I always try to look for that one off piece or as some people refer to as the "Diamond in the rough". These pieces truly add to the unique quality of each item. From the second that little gem is found, I can't wait to get into the shop to start that special transformation. Each piece is designed with pure imagination and created by hand.

I can custom make any of our offered items, using your choice of preferred materials and or colors. These items are great conversation pieces, and with the peace of mind knowing that your piece will not be found elsewhere, as no two pieces are alike, they make for a wonderful unique gift for yourself or that special someone.

Retirement has been fantastic! We spend as much time as possible with our grandsons, and absolutely enjoy attending the crafting events any chance we get.
